European regions driving innovation clusters for economic growth and development
This article looks at how innovation clusters form in different regions of Europe over time. The researchers studied if certain factors help create specialized clusters of innovation in specific areas. They used data on innovation and production activities in European regions from 1978 to 2001. The findings show that geographical knowledge sharing between neighboring regions plays a significant role in the concentration of innovation in certain industries, even after accounting for the concentration of production in those areas.
