Land titles significantly increase value of agricultural land in Uganda.
Land in Uganda is regulated by different systems, like Customary and Freehold. A study looked at how having a title affects the value of agricultural land. They found that having a title, especially a freehold one, increases the price of land. Factors like region and location also play a big role in land value. In Uganda, land in urban areas is more expensive. The study suggests promoting leasehold systems in growing cities to make land more accessible for different uses.
