Colombia's Informal Sector Evolution Shapes Urban Employment Landscape
The article analyzes how the informal sector in Colombia impacted employment from 1984 to 2000. It looks at different ways to define the informal sector and how it changed over time. The study found that there are three main types of workers in the informal sector: salaried workers, entrepreneurs, and subsistence workers. Each type of worker responds differently to economic conditions. The informal sector does not have one dominant type of worker, so it is hard to make generalizations about it.
