Rising inflation in ASEAN-5 countries leads to economic uncertainty spiral.
The study looked at how inflation and uncertainty about inflation are connected in five countries in Southeast Asia. They found that when inflation goes up, uncertainty about inflation also goes up. And when uncertainty about inflation goes up, inflation also goes up. This means that even in countries with low inflation rates, inflation can still cause uncertainty, and uncertainty can cause inflation. The researchers warn that if inflation is not controlled in these countries, it could lead to problems in the future.
