Deforestation is a big problem, especially in tropical regions, and contributes to global warming. Policies like REDD+ can help reduce deforestation and its impact on climate change. The study looked at the causes of deforestation at two levels: direct and indirect. They used a model to analyze these causes and found that deforestation is influenced by both internal and external factors. The results show that deforestation affects biodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions, and the livelihoods of people who depend on forests. The study suggests that effective REDD+ policies can help address deforestation and its consequences in different regions like Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
