By analyzing data from 30 provinces, the researchers found that China can improve energy efficiency, especially in western provinces. Insufficient technological investment and manufacturing scale are key factors hindering progress. The study suggests policy implications to enhance energy efficiency, particularly in economically underdeveloped regions.
