New concept of individualism revolutionizes economic evaluation criteria
The principle of Normative Individualism suggests that economic decisions should be based solely on what individuals want. This idea is widely accepted in economics but hasn't been explored much in terms of how people form their preferences. The principle can be understood better if we think of it as a concept called developmental individualism, which includes three main criteria: what people prefer, what opportunities they have, and how fairly resources are distributed.
