New study reveals key conditions for existence of mixed strategy Nash equilibria.
The article explores conditions for finding mixed strategy Nash equilibria in certain types of games. By using diagonal transfer continuity instead of better-reply security, the researchers found it can be more helpful in determining equilibrium existence. They also discovered that better-reply secure games with a payoff secure mixed extension may not always have mixed strategy Nash equilibria. The study provides easily checkable conditions for ensuring the mixed extension of a two-person game is better-reply secure.
