Minimum wage policy reshapes employment landscape, impacting industries and demographics.
The study looked at how the federal minimum wage affects different groups of workers and industries. They found that the minimum wage doesn't seem to change overall employment or wages directly or indirectly. However, it does impact which industries and types of workers are hired. For example, employment decreased in some low-wage industries and for teenagers and young men, but increased for young women and adults. These changes are partly due to expected future changes in the minimum wage.
