Deeper Trade Agreements Boost Agricultural Exports, Transforming Global Food Supply
Regional trade agreements (RTAs) can significantly boost agricultural trade, with some agreements increasing trade by up to 150 percent. However, not all RTAs are equally effective. "Deep integration agreements" that focus on closer economic ties are the most beneficial for increasing trade. The depth of economic integration in RTAs directly impacts the benefits of regionalism, with more integrated agreements leading to greater trade flow increases.
