Toxic Cement Waste Pollutes River, Threatens Farming Community's Livelihood
The study looked at how the discharge from a cement factory affects the water quality of Ngo River in Nigeria. They tested the water in different seasons and found that some levels of pollutants in the water were higher than recommended standards for drinking and agricultural use. The effluent from the factory is somewhat treated, but it still has negative effects on the environment and could lead to water-related diseases.
