The study tested if the KombiFiD sample is good for studying business services firms. They found that the sample has more big firms, leading to more exporting firms. Results for West German firms were similar using both the original data and the KombiFiD sample. But for East Germany, there weren't enough business services firms for analysis, especially in export participation.
