Armenia's Monetary Policy Struggles to Impact Economy and Inflation
The article examines how monetary policy affects the economy in Armenia. The researchers found that the ability of monetary policy to impact economic activity and inflation is limited because some important channels are not working well. The interest rate channel is weak, but changes in the repo rate do affect prices. The exchange rate also plays a big role in inflation in Armenia. Additionally, inflation responds to changes in broad money, especially when foreign currency deposits are considered.
