Wage gaps in Colombian sectors reveal stark disparities in income distribution.
Wage differences between different job sectors in Colombia were studied using data from over 1,300 firms. The research showed that wages vary significantly across sectors and job types. Jobs in electricity, finance, and manufacturing tend to have higher wages, while agriculture and fishing jobs have lower wages. Managers and professionals have more wage differences compared to lower-skilled workers. Firm characteristics play a big role in explaining these wage differences.
