Closing the Gap: Policy Changes to Boost Microfinance Access in Kenya
Microfinance institutions in Kenya are struggling to provide financial services efficiently due to limited capital sources. This hinders the poor from accessing benefits that could improve their lives. To address this, three policy options were analyzed: maintaining the status quo, government regulation, and self-regulation by MFIs. The goal is to close the financial gap in microfinance services by improving efficiency, feasibility, and accessibility.
