The article looks at income inequality in rural India in 1993 and 2005. It breaks down where people's income comes from and how that affects inequality. The study shows that income inequality increased during this time. Even though agriculture income is still a big part of total income and inequality, its share has gone down. When agriculture and salaried income go up a bit, inequality goes up too. But when labor income (both agriculture and non-agriculture) goes up a bit, inequality goes down.
