Trade Liberalization Boosts Farmer Incomes, Slashes Poverty in Tunisia
In this research, a computer model was used to study how making trade easier in agriculture can affect economic growth, poverty, and fairness. The researchers looked at how new farming techniques and more trade can raise productivity. They found that opening up trade can boost farmers' incomes directly and also change prices and overall income in society. By analyzing data from Tunisia, they showed that when trade increases, it can help poor farmers do better and reduce poverty overall.
