Croatia's Unofficial Dollarization Revealed: Impact of Euro Currency Introduction
The article explores how much foreign currency, especially US dollars, is used in different countries. It introduces new ways to measure this unofficial use of foreign currency, which are better than the old methods. The study focuses on Croatia and estimates how much German currency is also used there. It also discusses the upcoming introduction of the Euro currency in 2002 and the need to track how it replaces local currencies in Central and Eastern Europe.
