Wage inequality in Central and Eastern European countries decreased between 2002 and 2014. This was mainly due to higher wages at the lower end of the pay scale and less variation in wages between different companies. The changes in wage inequality were driven by how wages were structured, rather than by changes in the types of workers employed.
