This paper looks at Canada's trade agreements and how they relate to the resource curse. Canada has focused on bilateral trade deals to diversify its economy, but these agreements haven't been very successful. The main reason for these deals seems to be political rather than economic. Canada has been slow to make trade agreements compared to other countries. The resource curse concept helps us understand Canada's reliance on primary industries and its place in the global economy.
