Social preferences revealed: Time as a powerful motivator in social experiments.
The study looked at how people make decisions in social games using time as a reward instead of money. Participants had to choose how long they stayed in the lab based on their choices in the games. Results showed that people were willing to share time fairly in some games and showed trust and reciprocity in others. The findings suggest that people are generally fair and cooperative when time is the reward, even more so than when money is involved.
