Residents willing to pay for urban parks and biodiversity conservation in Laos.
The article discusses two studies in Laos that used a method called Contingent Valuation to find out how much people are willing to pay for environmental services. One study looked at how much residents are willing to pay to maintain urban parks, with an average of 10,741 kip per household per month. The other study focused on how much people are willing to pay for biodiversity conservation in a protected area, with an acceptable monthly contribution of 5,000 kip. The findings show that people value urban parks for relaxation and biodiversity conservation, and recognize the importance of protected areas for environmental protection.
