Governments worldwide support venture capital funds to help small companies grow and create jobs. A study looked at 108 companies in Flanders that got funding from a government fund-of-fund. Companies backed by independent venture capital funds had more job growth than those backed by captive or government funds. This means that independent funds help companies grow and create jobs, which is good for the economy.
