Developed countries push for private funds in climate finance, leaving developing nations behind.
The COP19 meeting in Warsaw discussed climate finance, focusing on how to raise and use money to tackle climate change. Developing countries wanted more predictable funding from developed countries, while developed countries emphasized using public money to attract private investments. The meeting didn't reach clear agreements due to these differences. To improve transparency, developed countries will report on their climate finance in 2014. Some European countries promised to donate to the Green Climate Fund once it's ready. But to make the fund more stable, discussions should also cover long-term finance issues.
