Copayments Impact Demand for Physician Visits, Revealing Moral Hazard Trend.
The study looked at how people's behavior changed when they had to pay a small fee to see a doctor. They used data from over 4500 individuals over two years, comparing those who had to pay 10% for doctor visits to those who didn't. The results showed that when people had to pay, they didn't visit the doctor's office less, but they did make fewer home visits. This suggests that when it comes to seeing a doctor, people might change their behavior if they have to pay, but not always.
