Unlocking Global Potential: WTO and UN Collaboration for Positive Change
The World Trade Organization (WTO) and United Nations (UN) agencies could benefit from working together more closely. They share common goals and should collaborate in areas where they can help each other. Instead of relying on formal rules, WTO Members should collectively decide when to make exceptions for non-economic reasons. A group should be created within the WTO to improve policy-making and collaboration with UN agencies. The focus on development in the Doha Round should lead to better cooperation between the WTO and UN in providing assistance.
