Soil tillage practices in Tunisia improve soil quality and water retention.
The study compared different soil tillage methods in Tunisia to see how they affect soil density and water flow. They tested no-tillage, plowing at different depths with moldboard and disc plows. Results showed that tillage practices affected soil density, with no-tillage having the highest density and disc plowing the lowest. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was highest with disc plowing and lowest with no-tillage. Shallow tillage was found to be the best practice for improving soil physical and hydraulic properties.
