Reciprocal trade agreements (RTAs) have a big impact on agricultural trade. They boost trade between countries that are part of the agreement but reduce trade between member and nonmember countries. RTAs are especially good at increasing agricultural trade and opening up markets in developing countries when both trading partners are in the same agreement.
