Immigration boosts European workers to higher paying jobs, study finds.
The article examines how European workers' careers, jobs, and wages are affected by immigration and country policies. Data from 11 EU countries between 1995-2001 was analyzed. More immigrants in a labor market lead to native Europeans upgrading to higher-skilled and better-paid jobs. There is no increase in unemployment or moving to different locations. Countries with more flexible labor markets see more job upgrades in response to immigration.
