International cartels are still a problem today, with many lasting for years and causing billions in sales. Current policies mostly focus on domestic markets and may not be strong enough to stop cartels. To combat this, reforms are needed in national policies and international cooperation. Simply banning cartels is not enough; we also need to be vigilant in other areas of competition policy to prevent firms from finding other ways to avoid competition.
