Egalitarian Choices: Children Show Strong Inequality Aversion in Risky Decisions
The study aimed to distinguish between inequality aversion and risk aversion in economic decision-making. Researchers conducted experiments where participants, including children from kibbutz communities and cities, had to choose between two risky options with different levels of fairness. Choosing the more fair option indicated a higher aversion to inequality. The results showed that some individuals prioritize fairness over risk when making decisions.
