Climate change boosts revenue for Nigerian irrigated rice farms, threatens dry land.
The study looked at how climate change affects rice farming in Nigeria. They interviewed 1200 rice farmers from different states. Warmer temperatures can lower profits for dry land rice farms, but increase profits for irrigated farms. More rainfall can reduce profits for dry land farms, but increase profits for irrigated farms. Farmers use irrigation to adapt to climate change, along with other strategies like raising livestock and finding new markets.
