The article explores how rational expectations can be stable globally when people learn with limited rationality. The authors focus on a specific example and find that certain conditions ensure stability in learning. They discover that a concept called gross substitutability, when adjusted to consider the role of prices, guarantees global stability of rational expectations. Their analysis is helped by a new technique that makes it easier to understand these complex ideas visually.
