Developing Countries Face Mixed Fortunes in Global Trade Reforms
A study looked at how changing trade rules could affect developing countries' farming. By simulating these changes, researchers found that when certain farming regulations are loosened, many developing regions benefit. Some countries, though, may see a decrease in how well off they are. How much they're affected depends on what steps these countries take and if they actually happen. The study shows that opening up trade more could reduce the advantages some developing areas have in trade deals.
