Reducing Class Size Boosts Student Achievement and Economic Returns by 6%
The article looks at how class size affects student achievement. When all studies are given equal weight, resources are linked to achievement. But when weights are based on the number of estimates, resources and achievements are not consistently related. A cost-benefit analysis of reducing class size shows that going from 22 to 15 students can lead to a 6% return on investment, based on the Tennessee STAR experiment.
