The article looks at how European regions are connected in different knowledge networks. They studied R&D collaborations, co-patents, and co-publications to see what factors affect a region's position in these networks. They used advanced techniques to analyze the data. The results show that different factors influence each network. For co-patents, a region's internal capacity and technology play a big role. Economic conditions affect a region's position in R&D collaborations. But for co-publications, external factors don't have much impact. Each network has its own focus and regional influences.
