EU Redefines National Parliaments' Role in Society Through Bankruptcy Regulation.
The European Union has helped national parliaments by expanding their legislative reach through setting precedents and facilitating policy transfer. This has allowed parliaments to create new laws and draw lessons from other countries, making them more effective regulators of society. The experiences of Italy and The Netherlands in antitrust laws, as well as the Open Method of Co-ordination in employment and social inclusion, demonstrate how the EU has strengthened national parliaments in their regulatory role.
