Communication key to successful coordination in experimental games, study finds.
Costless communication before a game can help people coordinate better. In a study, when players could talk before playing a game, they coordinated more than when they couldn't talk. Knowing what the other person did also helped coordination. But without this information, people were less optimistic about coordinating. So, talking before a game can help people work together better.
