Unique Equilibria Unlock Robust Strategies for Cooperative Decision-Making
Scientists studied if having a single solution in games remains stable when the rules change. They looked at when changes in game rules affect the number of possible outcomes. They discovered that in some games where players work together, there's usually only one good strategy that stays the same. However, in games involving more players or when working alone, the outcome may change with each rule adjustment. For two-player competitive games, a single best strategy exists most of the time. They also found that when both players are equal, having only one best strategy can depend on the game's structure.
