Subsidies Harm Environment, Fuel Unsustainable Growth, Finds Study
Subsidies given to industries can affect the environment in different ways. They can increase pollution if resources are moved to industries with high emissions. However, subsidies can also lower overall emissions by reducing the productivity of emissions. In the long run, subsidies can lead to more capital accumulation and higher emissions. By reducing certain subsidies, we may be able to improve the environment while still growing the economy.
