Basque Global City Strategy Boosts Regional Economic Growth Potential
City networks in Europe are being developed to boost regional growth. Simply having multiple cities close together doesn't guarantee competitiveness. To succeed, regions must become well-integrated urban networks that make the most of their resources and work together effectively. The Basque autonomous region has a strategic plan called Euskal Hiria (‘Basque Global City’) to connect its main cities (Bilbao, San Sebastian, and Vitoria) for economic and social development.
