Low productivity growth in Bahraini agriculture sector hindering economic progress.
The goal of the study was to measure productivity growth in Bahrain's Agriculture and Fisheries Sector from 1980 to 2002. Researchers used a dual-cost method to analyze multifactor productivity growth, considering technological changes and economies of scale. The findings show that the sector had a low productivity growth rate of 1.7% per year on average, with a peak of 17.5% in 1994. This suggests that there were inefficiencies in operations that hindered overall productivity growth.
