Russian Crisis Shifts Stock Market Influence to EU and USA.
The study looked at how the Russian stock market was connected to other stock markets in Europe and the world from 1995 to 2004. After the Russian Crisis of 1997-1998, the relationships between these markets changed significantly. Traditional methods of studying these connections no longer worked. Instead, the European Union and the USA became the main influences on the Russian stock market, with little impact from nearby markets like Poland or Hungary.
