The euro has had a big impact on money and bond markets, but there's still work to be done. The bond market in the euro area needs more liquidity, market completeness, and size compared to the US. Barriers to integration include issues with settlement, legal documentation, practices, collateralisation, fiscal and accounting procedures, and the need for a clearing house.
