The article analyzes fertilizer use in corn, cotton, soybeans, and rapeseed from 1990 to 2010 in selected countries. It shows the amount of nitrogen, phosphate, and potash used for each crop and year, in kilograms per hectare and thousand metric tonnes. The allocation of fertilizer among crops is based on a country's total nutrient consumption, cropped areas, world prices, and specific application rates. The results reveal the fertilizer consumption by crop for top consuming countries, with detailed data available in an Excel file.
