The 2006 reform of the EU domestic policy regime for bananas had a significant impact on trade. Depending on how certain countries implement the reform, EU imports could increase by 13% to 16%, and exports to the EU by 9% to 11%. This shows that the changes made in 2006 could have a bigger effect on trade than the previous tariff-only regime.
