Gender and Education Gaps Exposed: Public Sector Wages Favor Women and Educated.
The study looked at the difference in wages between public and private sector workers in Estonia. By using a method called quantile regression, the researchers found that higher-paid workers earn less in the public sector compared to the private sector. However, there was no significant difference for lower-paid workers. Additionally, women benefit more from working in the public sector than men, and employees with higher education levels benefit more than those with lower education levels.
