Semiparametric Estimator Outperforms OLS and Nonparametric in Real Estate Pricing.
The article compares different ways to estimate values in real estate data. Parametric estimators are efficient but may have errors. Nonparametric estimators reduce errors but are less efficient. Semiparametric estimators balance efficiency and error reduction. The study applied three estimators to real estate data and found that the semiparametric estimator performed closest to expectations, followed by the nonparametric and parametric estimators. The semiparametric estimator can also help identify errors in the data.
