Spatial systems approach reveals faster regional convergence in Europe.
The study looked at how different regions in Europe are catching up economically. By using a special statistical method, the researchers found that regions with lower incomes tend to grow faster than richer ones. This means that poorer regions are getting closer to the wealthier ones over time. The researchers also discovered that when they considered all the factors together, the speed of this catching up was even faster. This was true whether the regions were close to each other or not.
