China has used different ways to talk to powerful countries since joining the World Trade Organization. A new communication method called the China–US Strategic and Economic Dialogue has improved relations between China and the US. A study looked at how different communication methods affect China's willingness to share information. They found that under private communication, China shares more information with one country if it shares less with the other. This can lead to one country knowing more than the other, even when using public communication.
